COLORTRAC NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT
Colortrac Launch Expanding Range of SmartLF SC series Large Format Scanners http://www.colortrac.com/about/colortrac-innovative-technologies/
Colortrac, the leading innovator in the field of large format scanners, introduce the new SmartLF SC 25, SmartLF SC 36 and SmartLF SC 42 wide format scanners.
Designed using the unique elements of Colortrac Innovative Technologies, it is a clear indication that Colortrac have listened to their customers and provided products having distinct higher performance, image quality and price advantages to assist them in satisfying their wide format documents scanning requirements. In expanding the new range of SmartLF SC Series large format scanner widths to cover 25, 36 and 42 inches; it helps our customers in AEC, CAD, GIS and Copyshop or Service Bureaus to choose the right scanners for their needs.
Commenting on some of the many new elements of Colortrac Innovative Technologies, Peter Brown Colortrac Executive Director said "The new SingleSensor digital imaging technology in the SmartLF SC series large format scanners is a Colortrac invention (Patent pending) and a major breakthrough creating a new paradigm wide format scanner design. By combining up to 50,400 individual image sensors in a compact, robust and single-piece design, Colortrac have obtained a significantly higher image quality and alignment stability eliminating the need for staggered CIS image sensors. This gives each SmartLF SC scanner an optical resolution of 1200dpi or when using SmartWorks Pro software, this can increase the maximum scanning resolution to 9600dpi. The SingleSensor also captures a larger range of color tones scanning in RAW RGB, but can also provide images in sRGB whichever the customer requires.
By adding the new ClearView technology that comprises the custom designed "instant-on" low energy and bi-directional LED lighting, this works together with SingleSensor to reduce optical errors to a minimum ensuring that all scan and copy data is of the highest possible color and dimensional accuracy. Even shadow effects inherent in the folds of creased documents are reduced by the combination of the ClearView feature and innovative SureDrive active pressure roller that gently presses the document against the SingleSensor. This is particularly apparent when scanning thin materials like creased Newspapers for archival.
All SmartLF SC series large format scanners are capable of scanning monochrome documents at 13 inches/sec and color at up to 6 inches/sec. To handle the higher quantity of image data from the increased scanning speed, the SmartLF SC series incorporates Colortrac FireFly communications technology that incorporate the new industry standard SuperSpeed USB 3.0 serial PC interface. This has always been a restriction on scanning productivity, but now reduces the time taken to transfer the image data from the scanner to the host PC or Cloud online storage services such as Google Drive™, Microsoft SkyDrive™ or Dropbox™. By using the new SmartWorks EZ Touch software that is provided with every scanner, easy quality adjustment of the scanned image can be made, making the SmartLF SC series wide format scanners ideal for those large archival jobs. Independent tests have indicated a realistic throughput of 273 Arch-E (36" x 48") sized color pages per hour at 200dpi resolution – or 171 documents at 400dpi – are easily maintained.
Summarizing the capabilities of the new wide format scanner, Peter Brown commented "All Colortrac SmartLF SC Series scanners use the SingleSensor, SureDrive and ClearView technologies and are Energy Star qualified. By using our Innovative Technologies we achieve higher scanning speed, with SuperSpeed USB3 data transfer and FireFly drivers; these unique features contribute to making the SmartLF SC series wide format scanners probably the most productive scanners available for discriminating users."
Colortrac, a U.K based pioneer and innovator of cost-effective color and monochrome wide format scanners has officially granted the franchise for her SmartLF range of large format scanners in the West Africa region to Support Systems Limited, Lagos, Nigeria. Colortrac SmartLF large format scanners are ideal for all wide format scanning, archiving, copying and printing jobs across the range of large format scanning applications for sheet-feed paper documents and flat, mounted originals up to 0.8 (20mm) thickness. Colortrac SmartLF large format scanners come in Gx+42 and GxT 56 range. See Colortrac products or contact us today for more information on how to get even smarter copies of your work!
SmartLF SC 42 large format production scanner
Colortrac, the leading innovator in the field of wide format scanning technology, announce the launch of their new high speed SmartLF SC 42 large format production scanner. The SmartLF SC 42 wide format scanner has been designed with many new and productive innovations to meet the needs of high volume scanning users in AEC, CAD, GIS and Copyshop or Service Bureaus.
Commenting on the new scanning technology, Peter Brown Colortrac Executive Director said "The new SingleSensor digital imaging technology for the SmartLF SC 42 wide format scanners is a patented Colortrac invention. The SingleSensor is a single full width 42 inch array of Contact Imaging Sensors (CIS) that are housed in a robust structure and pre-aligned, giving higher optical quality and improved match between sensors. The full width SingleSensor has 50,400 pixels giving it an optical resolution of 1200dpi and a maximum scanning resolution of 9600dpi. It also uses a bi-directional white LED lighting system that optimises the illumination of the scan object whilst giving an "Instant-on" response. This lowers power consumption as the lights are only on whilst scanning and eliminates the effects of shaded areas caused by creases or folds in the original documents."
The SmartLF SC 42 is capable of scanning monochrome documents at 13 inches/sec and color at 6 inches/sec. To improve the document feeding capabilities at these increased scanning speeds, it incorporates a new single roller document feed mechanism that holds the document firmly up against the SingleSensor lens. This allows it to handle a variety of document types including creased, fragile or even thin media such as newspaper.
The SmartLF SC 42 is also the first large format scanner to utilise the new SuperSpeed USB 3.0 serial PC interface that provides for data transfer at up to 5Gb/sec – this is approximately 10 times the data transfer speed of the current USB2 interface. This reduces the time taken to transfer the image data from the scanner to the host PC - this has always been a restriction on productivity. Tests have indicated a realistic throughput of 273 Arch-E (36" x 48") sized color pages per hour at 200dpi resolution – or 171 documents at 400dpi. By using the new SmartWorks EZ Touch software provided with the scanner, easy quality adjustment of the scanned image can be made, making the SmartLF SC 42 large format scanner ideal for those large archival jobs.
Summarizing the capabilities of the new wide format scanner, Peter Brown commented "The SingleSensor provides a larger color gamut in the scanned image compared to sRGB or Adobe1998 which is better than most competitive scanners. Combine this with higher scanning speed and SuperSpeed data transfer; it contributes to making the SmartLF SC 42 the most productive large format scanner available. It also reinforces Colortrac’s position as the leading innovator in the field of wide format scanning technology."
Support Systems now resellers for Esri and Arc
Supports Systems Limited, as Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) reseller in Nigeria has been mandated by ESRI and SAMBUS, the West African distributor of ESRI products, to donate the ArcGIS Server and 4 concurrent ArcView licenses to the Department of Petroleum Resources, Nigeria.
